I am a meticulous Cum Laude graduate student with a driven attitude, strong educational credentials, and a variety of resourceful skills. Currently serving as a Wraparound Specialist with the Houston Independent School District, I work to connect students and families with essential resources, mental health services, and support to promote educational success in Title I schools. My work is deeply rooted in a passion for counseling, especially within minority communities, where I strive to create supportive, culturally responsive spaces for individuals to explore their challenges, build resilience, and realize their potential.
I am committed to normalizing mental health care, particularly within minority populations, by using diverse counseling methodologies and embodying the qualities of an exceptional counselor. I am pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University to break down myths surrounding mental health, educate the minority community on its benefits, and teach effective strategies for mental well-being. My academic foundation, with a degree in Psychological Science and a minor in Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana, has equipped me with a strong understanding of both science and human behavior.
Through my role at HISD, I am dedicated to fostering equitable opportunities and supporting students, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. I believe counseling is a powerful tool for empowerment and transformation, and I aim to make a lasting impact by helping students overcome systemic barriers and supporting their overall well-being and academic success.
